The Town of Fort Macleod is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a Non-Permanent Term Powerline Technician in the Electrical Department. The position reports directly to the Electrical Foreman. The position involves tree trimming, meter replacement, construction work, and connection of services, new installation of meters and other work as directed by the Foreman. This is a CUPE Local 70 temporary position.

CUPE Local 70 Wage: $51.58
Hours of Work: 7:00am-4:00pm, one hour for lunch break, possible weekend and on call schedule required
Length of Term: Up to 3 months with possibility of an extension

Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess:
• Minimum Power Line Trades Certificate, Red Seal preferred
• 3-5 years of working experience in a related field.
• Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
• Strong work ethic, the ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
• Ability to climb poles and work at heights.
• Interpret drawings.
• Will be expected to provide personal climbing gear and small hand tools are required.
• Thorough knowledge of the Provincial Electrical Utilities Regulations and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Codes
