Facilities Operator/Lead Hand - Town of Fort Macleod

The Facilities Lead Hand will assist the Facilities Foreman in coordinating the activities of workers and ensure the safe, efficient and economic delivery of services. The Lead Hand/Operator will be an effective team member whose contributions will assist in the achievement of departmental objectives.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ of directly related experience in a municipal facilities/recreational role.
- Experience must include arena and pool operating.
- Experience supervising staff considered an asset.
- The following certifications are required:
• Arena Operator Level 1 and 2
• Pool Operator Level 1
- The following certifications are considered an asset:
• Playground Inspector
• Standard First Aid and CPR
• Weed Applicator Ticket

Upon Appointment if the employee does not possess a certificate in both Arena Operator Level 2 and Swimming Pool Operator Level 1 with Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel they will be expected to progress through the training, certification and experience requirements required by the position.

This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 70, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. A complete job description is available, please contact the HR department

Environment and Compensation
Rate of Pay: Dependant on Qualifications
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, including shift work (days, evenings and weekends) when required. Over time when required and approved. On-call and call-outs when required.
