A 4-H project is: planned work in an area of interest to the 4-H member; guided by a volunteer who is a project leader; aimed at objectives that can be attained and measured; summarized by some form of record keeping; displayed for club members and the community on achievement day. By working in a club, members develop meaningful associations with adults and learn how to conduct business meetings. Clubs also encourage members to work and learn together. Many activities are offered that improve self-confidence and communication skills.
