Your voice matters in shaping the future of Fort Macleod! We're seeking passionate community members to join the following Town Boards, Committees, and Commissions. This is your chance to make a difference—apply today!

BUILT HERITAGE ADVISORY BOARD (BHAB)
Advises Town administration and Council on protecting and conserving built historic resources within the community.

Meetings: Held on the 1st Wednesday of the month in the evening.

Vacancies: Two, each for a 2-year term (Members can apply as Architects or Designers with experience in heritage conservation or building contractors with experience in heritage buildings.)


DIVERSITY & INCLUSION COMMITTEE

Promotes and enhances inclusivity and diversity within the community, striving to build a culture of belonging in Fort Macleod.

Meetings: Held bi-monthly in the daytime, some evening commitments or meetings scheduled as needed.
Vacancies: Up to Ten vacancies, each for a 2-year term

Members can apply as residents of Fort Macleod and the surrounding area, including the MD of Willow Creek. Ideally, at least one representative from the following groups: Indigenous communities, Minority cultural groups, Persons with disabilities, and Senior citizens. Note: Additional members may be appointed based on their expertise or interest in diversity and inclusion.


ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE
Promotes environmental awareness and sponsors environmental activities.

Meetings: Held on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. in January, March, May, September, and November.
Vacancies: Unlimited vacancies, each for a 2-year term


FAMILY & COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES BOARD (FCSS)
Establishes policies and development programs for FCSS. Meetings are held monthly.
Vacancies: Four Vacancies. Two community members at large, for a two-year term, One youth appointee for a 1-year term. One MD of Willow Creek member at large vacancy for a 2-year term. (Please apply directly to the MD of Willow Creek).


FORT MACLEOD HOUSING COMMITTEE
Facilitate partnerships and collaborative planning towards effectively developing housing strategies in Fort Macleod.

Meetings: Held monthly in the daytime.
Vacancies: There are two vacancies, each for a 2-year term (Members can apply as Real Estate community representatives or community members at large).


FORT MACLEOD LIBRARY BOARD
Establishes policies and regulations for operations of the RCMP Centennial Library.

Meetings: Held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Vacancies: Two vacancies, each for a 3-year term

MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION
Makes informed decisions on discretionary development applications as stated in the Land Use Bylaw. Meetings: Held on the 3rd Monday of the month at 12:15 pm at the GR Davis Building.
Vacancies: Three vacancies & One alternate, each for a 1-year term

Application Deadline: October 16th, 2024, by 4:30 p.m.

Organizational Council Meeting: October 28th, 2024
