Grants to Organizations & Community Funding Application
The objective of this annual grant is to support community development by providing non-profit organizations in the Town of Fort Macleod with access to municipal funding, resources, and support. Community available recreation programs, Arts & Culture events, and programming, as well as senior, family and community experiences being prioritized as funds are limited.
Eligibility Guidelines
Organizations applying for funding must:
- Be locally managed, developed and delivered programs, special events and or services that focus on building and growing communities that support well rounded, healthy, and active lifestyles.
- Be a currently registered non-profit organization under the Societies Act.
- Be a society in good standing in Alberta.
- Be in possession of a Town Business Licence if applicable.
- Submit your previous years financial statements.
- If a previously funded organization, application must include a detailed description and accounting of how funds provided by the Town were used and this must corelate with the application for those funds.
Approved Use of Funds
The Non-profit organization must provide services to and represent Fort Macleod residents and do one or more of the following:
- Enhance and provide access to programming/events available and accessible to members or our community including youth, families, and seniors.
- Inspire residents to become active participants engaged with the community, events, various recreational opportunities as well as arts and cultural programming.
Reporting Requirements
To ensure accountability, the municipality requires year-end program reporting including unaudited financial statements. Please also include updated reports on projected outcomes from the funded group or organization that may have received funds the past year through this program.
General Conditions
Fort Macleod Town Council is the deciding body as to allocation of funds. Appeals are not permitted. A condition of accepting funding is that the Municipality can ask for supporting documentation and evidence to be provided to ensure that the grant funds are being used as directed by the provisions of the grant and application details. The municipality reserves the right to allocate funding in such a manner as deemed to be in the best interest of the municipality.
